This program, sponsored by the Westfall Education Foundation, gives each second grader in our district a free book three times a year. Thank you, WEF, for this incredible gift, and Ms. Strawser for visiting with us today!

This week in music, the 5th graders completed an Escape Room! Their group completed five musical tasks around the room. Tasks included identifying notes on the music staff, composing their own rhythms, answering questions about the known solfa in songs, matching up rhythms from songs, and identifying the form of a song- all things that happen weekly in music class, but now they had to do them independently! Groups had to cooperate, communicate, and work together effectively to complete the tasks before time ran out. After completing each task, they earned a number that was part of the code for a lock box. Once they unlocked the box, they discovered a key to unlock another box to receive their prize- candy!
